两年后七月，楚杳被邀请参加，国际数学联盟每四年举行一次的国际数学家大会。

在国际数学家大会（icm）上，最激动人心的时刻无疑于是颁布fields medal，全名是国际数学杰出成就奖（iional medals for outstanding discoveries in mathematics）。

fields medal由国际数学联盟每四年在icm上颁布一次，以表彰对现有工作具有杰出数学成就的科学家，它堪称是数学界的诺贝尔奖，而icm也被誉为数学界的奥运会。

每届icm只能选出2至4位fields medal的得奖者，还需要考虑到数学领域的各种多样性，并且候选人的年龄不能超过40岁，由此可见，fields medal的竞争的激烈性，甚至比起一年一度的真正的诺贝尔奖还要困难。

fields medal ittee 是由国际数学联盟委员会（imu）选出的，通常由imu的主席主持。有意思的是，每届委员会主席的名字直到大会颁奖之前都是匿名的。

等所有人都按照一定的位置落座后。

“esteemed audience , wele to this of our ceremony.”一位身着黑底绿色花纹长裙的教授走上台说道，此时大屏幕上也展示出imu的标志。

“i’m professor camil holnti.it's my utmost pleasure to be here today as a representative of aalto uy and the finnis national ittee for mathematics.i'll be serving as the master of ceremony for this event .i'm hoo introduce mr ....................”

随后则是mr salininister进行了简短的讲话，最后他以十分幽默的一句话作为结尾：“and please do enjoy the very typical finish summer weather.（请尽情享受这个典型的夏末天气。）”

接下来则是国际数学联会主席colors kenic 教授进行讲话以及为大家揭晓4位fields medal获得者。

随后简要说明了他获得奖项的原因，即表彰其在统计物理学相变的概率理论中长期存在的问题的解法，特别是在三维和四维空间中。

四位获奖者，陆续走上台，并获得colors kenic 教授颁布的金质奖牌和1.5万加拿大元奖金，并发表自己的获奖感言。

最后楚杳说道:
